Phillips calls on Heggen to prosecute alleged sexual predator.

Michael Phillips, Democatic candidate for Saratoga District Attorney, called on current DA Karen Heggen to move the case against an alleged child rapist immediately to a grand jury. The case, he said, "has lingered for months for no reason other than possible favoritism to the predator."  Jonathan Aronson, 51, was arrested on January 5, 2022 for felony first degree rape, felony predatory sexual assault against a child, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, involving an incident that allegedly occurred on January 1, 2021.

Carousel celebrates 20 years in Congress Park

Saratoga Springs officials marked the anniversary on June 29, while commemorating the leadership of former Department of Public Works Commissioner Thomas McTygue who saved the antique amusement ride. Current Department of Public Works Commissioner Jason Golub shared that over the last two decades a total of 850,000 rides have taken place at the Congress Park carousel.

Golub is officially our DPW candidate.

Following New York State election law, which prohibits nominating a candidate till after the primary, on June 30 Jason Golub was formally chosen as Democratic candidate for Commissioner of Public Works for the November election, completing the term of the late Anthony (“Skip””) Scirocco. “Jason is a leader, plain and simple” said Democratic party chair Pat Tuz. “In less than three months he has proven not only capable of running DPW, but transforming its vision and path forward.”
