Saratoga Springs Dems tab Kuczynski as write-in candidate for Jan. 28 DPW special election.

The special election for the Spa City’s Commissioner of Public Works will take place at the end of January, and while there will only be one name on the ballot, the Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee recently tabbed interim Commissioner Hank Kuczynski as its write-in candidate. “We believe Hank’s vision for an effective and efficient public works department, coupled with his hands-on approach, will continue to help keep our city clean and safe in this critical role,” the Facebook post read. “We are confident that he will continue to serve Saratoga Springs with the same passion and excellence he has demonstrated throughout his career.” “I believe people should have a choice, that judges shouldn’t pick who can be elected officials,” Kuczynski said. “The fact that there was no competition, that it is not a democratic process when there is no choice makes it (the choice to run) simple. All I can say is that in Saratoga Springs, we know what long shots can do.” From the Saratogian.
