Saratoga school board members have a problem with “anti-racism” initiative.

Dean Kooligan and Erica Borman, who are aligned with Saratoga Parents for Safer Schools which aims at rearming school monitors, made their comments during last week’s SSCSD school board meeting. Kolligian said the word “anti-racism” is harsh and needs further explanation; Erika Borman found it “quite concerning” according to the Times-Union. Board member Natalya Lakhtakia responded that “racism is harsh”.

Separately, the Facebook page Moving Saratoga Forward, which has not completed the verification process but is presumed to be the work of a local gadfly who proclaims himself a libertarian, is pushing an online survey designed to promote misunderstanding of the district’s Equity and Inclusion initiative. School board elections are May 18.
