On Thursday night, July 29, the candidates on the Democratic Row A of the ballot hosted a virtual listening session to hear from voters and express their own views on the issues. Close to 100 attended via Zoom or Facebook Live for the 90 minute session. The focus of tonight’s session was public safety (key points made by candidates: a Citizen’s Review Board is not inconsistent with good policing, and listening to all community members does not mean defiunding the police) but the discussion extended into environmental policy, how to support at-risk populations and more.
Additional listening sessions will be scheduled between now and the November elections, and In the Loop readers will receive priority invitations to attend. If you are not already a subscriber, simply click the button at right to sign up!
