After a bruising special election, Saratoga Springs Democrats are eager to make their voice heard. We are proud to present a full slate of candidates who will carry forward our values in November. Here are details on the offices and candidates we endorsed:
Michele Madigan for Mayor. Ten years of experience as Saratoga Springs Finance Commissioner, current Saratoga County Supervisor. Michele will run a unifying campaign focused on meaningful change that addresses the needs of our community. Dillon Moran for Commissioner of Accounts. Running for his third term on accomplishments like the implementation of a Short Term Rental program, and support for affordable housing. He is concerned about support for our unhoused citizens and anti-immigration forces. Shafer Gaston for Commissioner of Finance. Shafer is a retired Submarine Training Instructor at the U.S. Navy facility in West Milton. He holds an MBA and a certification in project management. He is especially interested in helping Saratoga Springs prepare for future consequences of climate change. BK Keramati for Commissioner of Public Works. BK is a retired GE mechanical engineer who has been active in Saratoga Springs politics and is a former candidate for state office. He is passionate about alternative energy and climate change mitigation. Tim Coll for Commissioner of Public Safety. Tim is the incumbent who impressed us with his commitment to homeless services through RISE and mental health training for the SSPD. We thank him for requesting our endorsement. Sarah Burger for County Supervisor. Sarah is a former Saratoga Springs City Attorney in private practice, and a lifelong Saratoga Springs resident. She will advocate for a greater share of County resources for Saratoga Springs in light of our financial contribution Minita Sanghvi for County Supervisor. Minita is our current Commissioner of Finance who is leaving office after two successful terms. She will use what she learned in her county wide campaign for State Senate to forge relationships that benefit Saratoga Springs. Also check out our recently approved platform which is available here: https://www.saratogadems.org/mission/
