SSDC member Alice Smith read a lovely tribute to our two departing Democratic City Council members at the December 29 special session:
“I would like to say a few words of thanks to our commissioners who will be leaving their post after today. Dillon Moran and Minita Sanghvi.
“They have supported numerous proposals and projects to provide Saratoga Springs residents with services or projects that make life in our city better, including the participatory budgeting proposal. Some pass, some don’t, but they have done their best to manage accounts and finances with sometimes limited resources. I would also like to welcome the newly elected commissioners. In today’s political climate, I trust that they will make the best decisions for city residents and hold up our American values to promote equality, opportunity and protection of legal rights for everyone regardless of race or color, economic standing, special interests, or political pressure.
“Thank you.”
