Workforce housing zoning change approved.

In a special meeting on December 27, the Saratoga Springs City Council unanimously approved a zoning map amendment for a parcel of land at the corner of Crescent Ave and Jefferson St (near the casino). The change will allow Liberty Affordable Housing, Inc., a NYS not-for-profit entity, to construct approximately 215 units of work force housing. According to the resolution, “the city has a significant impediment in meeting its current economic needs because of difficulties relating to employment. This project will provide a mechanism for ensuring the recruitment and retention of work force necessary to staff foundational jobs for our community.”
