We endorsed the resolution against hate and antisemitism.

At its regular monthly meeting on June 15, 2024, the Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee voted to endorse the resolution brought forward by the New York State Democratic Committee titled Resolution Condemning the Surge in Hatred Against Jewish People in New York State. The resolution was presented for discussion by SSDC member Sarah Burger, who had just attended the State convention as delegate for the 113th District.

In our discussion, members emphasized that while the resolution focuses on antisemitism, the State committee condemns “all forms of discrimination and hate based on the grounds of race, gender identity, gender expression, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identity, disability, or economic status”. We are in solidarity with our State committee and other local committees in our desire to take decisive action so that “all feel welcome in the Democratic party”.

The full resolution, including one friendly amendment which does not change its meaning or intent, can be read here.
