On Thursday, March 3, Saratogians rallied in front of City Hall to show their support for the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against the brutal and unprovoked invasion by Russia. Supervisor Tara Gaston, Mayor Ron Kim and Public Safety Commissioner Jim Montagnino were among the elected officials who spoke. Mayor Kim said there are “no words” for the bravery of Ukranians who are putting their lives on the line to preserve democracy.
The event was organized by local progressive leaders who delivered this message: We the people of the Saratoga region stand with Ukraine and stand with President Biden’s support for Ukraine. We stand for Democracy, and democratically elected President Zelensky, and oppose Putin’s war of aggression to overthrow Ukraine’s democracy. We call on all of Saratoga and all of America to stand united in our support.
