UPDATED: Saratoga Springs Independent School District vote June 9 by absentee ballot

Residents of the Saratoga Springs City School District will decide on a proposed $132,397,035 budget for the 2020-2021 school year.  During a time of uncertainty, the proposed budget focuses on the needs of students as outlined in the District’s Pathways Vision and preserves the programs and services currently provided in Saratoga schools. Click here to read more information about proposed budget and the budget development process. A budget Hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. on June 1.

In addition to the budget vote, district residents will elect three candidates to the Board of Education for three-year terms. The seven candidates are Marissa Altimar, Erika Borman, Anjeanette Emeka, Scott Jackson, Tony Krackeler, Casey Putnam, and Matthew Taylor.  Candidate information will be available soon.  In addition, a virtual “Meet the Candidates” Forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters’, at 7 p.m. on June 1st.  Information on accessing that meeting will be available prior to the meeting.

Due to the COVD-19 public health crisis, voting this year will take place by absentee ballot only.  Ballots may be returned by mail using a prepaid return envelope and must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9.
