Paid parking for visitors coming to Saratoga Springs.

Despite mixed reviews from residents and business owners, the City Council [on April 2] unanimously approved seasonal paid parking at $2 an hour in all city garages and lots beginning Memorial Day. At public hearing Tuesday, Public Works Commissioner Jason Golub, who put forth the measure that will run through Labor Day, said the money is needed to help the city maintain the garages and lots and to ensure they are safe. Parking charges will be levied 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Golub emphasized residents and employees of city businesses will be eligible for a free parking pass for lots and garages. Street parking will remain free. From the Times-Union.
