The weekend-long festivities will begin with a Friday night kick-off party on Dec. 30 at Putnam Place. Then on Saturday, New Year’s Eve, starting at 1:00 pm, free children’s activities will be offered, leading up to a fireworks display that will launch from the City Center parking facility
Jason T. Schofield, the Republican Rensselaer County Board of Elections commissioner, was arrested outside his residence Tuesday morning by the FBI and charged with fraudulently obtaining and filing absentee ballots last year using the personal information of at least eight voters without their permission, according to an indictment unsealed in U.S. District Court.
Caroline Street sees heavy pedestrian traffic on a daily basis, especially during school pick-up and drop-off times at Caroline Street School. Currently, the sidewalk down Caroline Street ends abruptly in the middle of a block, before the intersection with Schuyler Drive. The new construction will extend the sidewalk five blocks further, connecting more of the community with a safe route through the neighborhood.
