Jason Golub chosen as interim DPW Commissioner.

Following the recommendation of a search committee chaired by former Commissioner John Franck, on May 3 the Saratoga Springs City Council officially appointed  Jason Golub to succeed the late Anthony ‘Skip’ Scirocco as the Department of Public Works commissioner. “We got a recommendation that Jason Golub was the best candidate. We then evaluated that recommendation as a City Council and agreed to appoint him,” said Mayor Ron Kim. The vote was unanimous among the four seated Council members. Kim said he was impressed with Golub’s range of experiences, as well as his commitments to recycling in Saratoga Springs and to retaining DPW leadership, including Deputy DPW Commissioner Joseph O’Neill, III. Golub’s professional experience includes working as a senior lawyer and chief compliance officer at Fortune 500 companies like GE and a chief diversity officer at public companies. This is an interim appointment with a Commissioner to be chosen in the November election to serve out the balance of Scirocco’s term, which runs through the end of 2023. Golub has indicated he intends to be a candidate in the November election. More in the Daily Gazette.
