Saratoga Springs is deeply saddened to announce today the passing of Commissioner Anthony “Skip” Scirocco.”I join all Saratogians as we mourn the passing of Commissioner Skip Scirocco, and we send our deepest condolences to his family,” said Mayor Ron Kim. “Skip was the complete public servant, always dedicated to our city and its residents. He will be greatly missed.”
According to a statement from the Department of Public Safety, “the lifelong Saratogian passionately served the City he loved professionally as the animal control officer, an elected Saratoga County Supervisor (1998-2005), and the Commissioner of Public Works (2008-2022). Skip loved his work and serving the people of Saratoga Springs, and was especially proud of his time in PW where he oversaw over $70 million of capital investment into the City’s
infrastructure during his time in office. Another one of his passions was music, and he loved being Skippy of the local band Skippy and the Pistons. Information on services will be forthcoming from the family. He was 74 at the time of his passing.”
