A big thank you for the Starbuck Legacy Luncheon.

As we reported last week, Sunday’s event at the Gideon Putnam was completely sold out a few days in advance. We’d budgeted for a minimum of 60 attendees, told the hotel we’d have 100 and in the end there were 126 including some folks who were able to register at the last minute when some who purchased tickets were no-shows.

Those who enjoyed the buffet and the two-hour program saw Barb Thomas receive a lifetime achievement award; a stirring keynote from Sasha Ahuja, chair of the New York Equal Rights campaign, recognition of local leaders Pat Nugent of NY ERA and Robin Chappelle Golston of Planned Parenthood, and commendation as future leaders for Saratoga Springs high school students Kate Henry and Maggie Anthes.

As reported in the Saratogian, “The luncheon served as a nonpartisan platform to unite people under the support of equality and justice and to honor individuals who served their community and continue to bring about change. These women honored are individuals who inspire and serve and whose impact will be felt for a long time.”
